The strategy can lose capital, and CSTR could lose all market value. Neither reward issuance nor token burns turn this into a guaranteed-return product.
Acquisition and execution
Obtaining CARDBOARD involves real trading losses. Income from the resulting stake may never cover those losses. Opposing positions can settle differently because of winning-exposure limits, charges, liquidation thresholds, and execution timing. An unfilled second leg can leave directional exposure.
House funds and delayed payouts
Cardboard Trade's house pays winning claims. Insufficient funds can place proceeds in a payout queue without a fixed payment date. A profitable position on paper may therefore not produce immediately withdrawable USDC. Reward distributions also depend on the venue's funding and priority rules.
Price feeds and administrative controls
The venue documents circumstances in which existing positions can settle using the last accepted price when a feed stops updating. Its authorized parties can pause activity, freeze accounts, and administratively settle positions. These are material dependencies, not merely website availability issues.
Revenue and competition
Less activity can reduce income. More competing stake can reduce the treasury's share. Changes to emission rates or venue economics can make further acquisition unattractive. A previously successful cycle is not proof that future cycles will be profitable.
Token and liquidity
CSTR has no promised price floor, direct treasury claim, or guaranteed exit liquidity. Taxes and price impact can make a round trip expensive. Buyback demand may be small relative to market selling, and burns do not prevent price declines.
Custody and implementation
Keys, operators, contracts, automation, swap routes, and data sources can fail or be compromised. Final custody and upgrade powers are not yet published. No independent security audit or guaranteed recovery process is claimed for CardboardStrategy.
